The office surprised my dad with a party after lunch. He had no idea - thought he was meeting with a client...

For the other grandparents that hit 60 later this year...this is what you get to look forward to....

Happy Birthday - It's the Big 6-0!!!

Happy, Happy 60th Birthday to my Dad!!!

Happy Birthday Meghan!

Wow! It's hard to believe that my "baby" is now 10 years old - double digits! Time has really flown by...I can't wait to see what the next 10 years bring.

Here's a picture of her new bedroom - it's a work in progress. We still have some things to finish, but you get the idea..

I think we're going shopping later today with my mom so Meghan can spend her birthday money and gift cards. Maybe afterwards, the kids can play outside since it's such a beautiful day.

Fun-filled weekend

After Meghan's party and a doctor visit Saturday morning (see previous post for more on that), we headed to my parent's new cabin. This is the first time we got to see it fully completed. Here's an outside view...
Ryan, Nick and my dad went fishing - Nick caught the only fish of the day
The kids loved going for rides in the mule. And no, they did not drive themselves. They always had an adult driving them.

Boat ride

While we were out riding around on the mule, we came across lots of mud puddles (we almost didn't make it through one. I thought we were going to have to call my dad to come tow us out) and debris in the road. This was our biggest obstacle...It took three people to hold it out of the way while I drove around

move that tree!

We came across these two deer several times yesterday...

Party Time!

Meghan had her birthday party Friday night - a sleepover with 6 friends. We had pizza, cake, and did lots of crafts. The theme of the night was "peace" so we did peace bracelets, bottlecap necklaces, and peace scratch-off art. It was a pretty calm night since Nick was gone to his own sleepover party with a trip to the local indoor waterpark. Everything was going great until Meghan woke up Saturday morning with pinkeye! She had absolutely no symptoms until then so we had to take her to the doctor as soon as everyone left. Thankfully, we got some drops that seem to be working - her eyes look way better. And, hopefully, no one else got sick. Pinkeye is highly contagious. Here are some party pics...
